摘要：
Large-scale city centre pedestrianization is now common throughout Europe, The street layouts of many European city centres are of medieval origin and have therefore made the introduction of pedestrianization easier, Yet a successful pedestrianization scheme needs an effective public transport system, which in cities of around 500 000 and more inhabitants has to be rail-based.
