New records and a revised checklist of the Australian clearwing moths (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae)

New records of clearwing moths (Sesiidae) from Australia are presented. Trilochana smaragdina Diakonoff 1954 was known only from a single female from West Papua (Irian Jaya). This species is redescribed here on the basis of a series of males recently collected in Queensland. It is the first record of the tribe Sesiini and the genus Trilochana for Australia. Males of another species, Nokona carulifera (Hampson 1919) comb. n., have been found for the first time at the same locality and are also characterised here. Nokona coracodes (Turner 1922) comb. n. is restored from synonymy. The genus Pseudosesia Felder 1861 is redefined and restored from synonymy with Paranthrene Hubner [1819]. An updated checklist of the Sesiidae of Australia is presented.
