摘要
Two activated carbons (prepared from solvent extracted olive pulp and olive stone) and two natural zeolites (brought into the homoionic sodium form) were used in an attempt to compare the ability of these adsorptive materials to remove the radiotoxic thorium ion from aqueous solutions. The activated carbons show better thorium removal ability than the natural zeolites. The adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich models. The former achieved best fits and was further applied to obtain the respective Langmuir constant and maximum adsorption capacity for each system.
