摘要
The aim of this work is to present the results of the study of archeological human bone remains from La Rioja province. We seek to contribute from a bioarchaeological approach to the understanding of the historical trajectory of the populations that inhabited this sector of Northwest Argentina. To this end, the biological profile of the individuals was established, and indicators of metabolic and nutritional stress and bone trauma patterns were recorded Also, radiocarbon datings were performed for each burial. Porotic lesions in the skull, periosteal reactions and dental disease were found to be homogeneously distributed in the two chronological groups present (ca. 400-650 and 1200-1600 A.D.). Traumatic injuries were found only in the late chronological group. Finally, it is highlighted the need to expand the sample and to perform chemical and molecular analysis.
