摘要
This paper deals with the current strategic role of the Quality Management in the Brazilian auto parts industry. Since surveys are in the forefront of total quality management, this work presents an empirical study conducted in six Brazilian automotive suppliers operating in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Aspects of the quality system in the companies surveyed, such as certification, introduction of quality techniques, and assessment of quality costs, are presented. The paper also highlights the strategic role of quality management concerning the automotive industry and points out problems which affects the company manufacturing strategies.
