Design by reification: Process-centric and system-centric models in process control

摘要：
The structure of most process control software is only very tenuously related to the process it is designed to control. This has subtle negative consequences, both for process operation and for the evolution and maintenance of the software itself. A similar argument can be made for the tools used to configure and manage the hardware and software of the control system software and hardware. This paper discusses a framework for organizing control software around the orthogonal concepts of an "intelligent process" and an "intelligent control system." Copyright (C) 1998 IFAC.
