Invited paper: Trends in numerical analysis of concrete structures in Japan

摘要
The state-of-the-art of FEM for the analysis of concrete structures in Japan is introduced briefly. The characteristic of the studies on FEM in Japan is that the number of application studies is very large compared with fundamental studies. Problems of FEM analysis demonstrated in JCI round robin analysis are introduced. The problems of mesh dependency and solution technique in analysis of softening behavior are discussed.
