摘要
This review concerns the usefulness of the main cytochemical tests for the diagnosis of some hematological disorders. The following techniques are described: hemosiderine and sideroblasts, leukocyte alkaline phosphatase activity, myeloperoxidase, periodic acid-Schiff (PAS), acid phosphatase, and specific and non-specific esterases. Commentaries and interpretation of results according to the authors' experience are related. An algorithm for the study of acute leukemias is proposed. Photographic evidence concerning each test is presented.
