摘要
Complementary and alternative methods (CAM) are frequently used in obstetrics, especially homeopathy, acupuncture, and aromatherapy. Using a questionnaire based on earlier studies in the field of oncology, we investigated the attitudes of gynecologists in private practice to the use of CAM in obstetrics during the Giegener Gynakologischen Fortbildung Conference 2007. The response rate was 81.3%. The responding gynecologists showed only a limited knowledge of CAM. Breathing techniques, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, yoga and homeopathy were considered useful. In the opinion of the gynecologists questioned, physicians should be responsible for invasive procedures and medication, and midwives responsible for the implementation of non-invasive approaches. A reorientation with regard to the use of CAM in obstetrics appears to be necessary. Such an approach would include all areas of education, the competent takeover of certain treatments by physicians, a choice of evidence-based methods and the assessment of potential side-effects of CAM, which could be done most effectively within the scope of existing perinatal surveys. In such a structured context a meaningful use of CAM in obstetrics seems possible without risk to patients and without incurring unnecessary costs.
