摘要
This paper presents an analytical investigation into the effect on the redundancy of steel frame structures exerted by the loss of vertical structural members destroyed by aircraft crash and explosions. This examination seeks to estimate the extent of a building's structural redundancy through an elasto-plastic analysis of three-dimensional frames based on the assumption that certain columns of the model building are lost. As a result, it was found that steel structural frames designed using joints with load-carrying capacity will remain standing even when multiple vertical load carrying members are lost because the vertical loads can be redistributed to the remaining vertical structural members.
