New wave-breaking criteria for the Fornberg-Whitham equation

摘要：

In this paper, we investigate the wave breaking for the Fornberg-Whitham (FW) equation. Based on blowup analysis of a Riccati-type inequality with a t-dependent function, which is of independent interest, some new wave-breaking conditions on the initial data for the equation are presented. Our results suggest that the wave breaking for the FW equation may occur even with small slope of the initial value. (C) 2021 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
