Preparation and Thermal Expansion of Sm2Zr2O7 Doped with Ce

摘要
The effect of Cc doping on coefficients of thermal expansion of Sm2Zr2O7 compound was studied Sm2CexZr2-xO7 (x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.40) compounds were prepared by coprecipitation and their micro-structure were analyzed by XRD and SEM. The samples of these materials were sintered at 1600 degrees C, and the coefficients of thermal expansion of the samples were measured by thermal expansion instrument. The constants of crystal lattice of Sm2CexZr2-xO7 (x=0.20, 0.40) were larger than that of Sm2Zr2O7, and the coefficients of thermal expansion Of Sm2CexZr2-xO7 (x=0.20, 0.40) were larger than that of Sm2Zr2O7. This is because the energy of chemical bond is decreased by Ce doped in Sm2Zr2O7.
