摘要
Coriandrum sativum (Apiaceae) is a small, bushy annual herb with pleasant odour. It is an edible plant having medicinal value also. The present investigation was carried out to determine bioactive components from acetone extract of Coriandrum sativum seeds of Vidarbha region by GCMS technique. Reported mass spectra of the compounds in the extract were matched with the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) library. The main constituents identified were 1,5-Dimethyl-1-vinyl-4-hexenyl butyrate; linalool(1,6-Octadien-3-ol, 3,7-dimethyl); 1,2-aminobenzoate; 1,6-octadien-3-ol, 3,7-dimethyl formate; 1,6-octadien-3-ol, 3, 7-dimethyl acetate; linalyl isobutyrate; oleic acid; n-hexadecanoic acid; pentadecanoic acid; undecylenic acid; 9,9-dimethoxy bicycle [3.3.1]nona-2,4-dione; undecanoic acid, hydroxyl-; lactone; eicosanoic acid. The extracts are rich in linalool and its esters. Therefore, this plant can be medicinally beneficially as an anticancer.
