IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN CAPITAL AND POTENTIAL IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In our contribution we will pay attention to the importance of the human factor in the regional development of the territory, with an emphasis on local development. In the theoretical part we will present the theoretical background of the problem. In the analytical part using an example of specific Slovak municipality, we will map the actual state of development of the territory, its potential and further development opportunities, all with an emphasis on the human factor and its role in this process. We will use SWOT analysis of municipality in region Horehronie as a tool to identify a development potential of municipality with an emphasis on the human factor. At the end of contribution we will identify the key impacts of the human factor in the municipality presented by us, with an emphasis on the potential for further development of the area. We will pay special attention to modern tools used in mapping the development potential of territories.
