摘要
Structural and magnetic studies on CuO nanoparticles prepared by sol-gel route are reported. Evolution of structure, magnetic properties and optical absorption analysis of these nanoparticles were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and UV-Visible spectrophotometer. XRD analysis indicated that the crystallite size is of the order of 25.1 nm for the copper oxide nanoparticle annealed at 1000 degrees C. The role of oxygen vacancies is to generate free carriers mediating ferromagnetism between Cu spins. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
