Analysis of autofluorescent endoscopic findings in laryngeal diseases

The approach to head and neck cancer research needs to focus attention on the detection of pre-cancer and early cancer lesions. Recently autofluorescent endoscopic systems have been developed and reported a lot of good results for detection of early lung cancer. I would like to detect the stages of early cancer, precancerious lesions, tumor spreading and tumor recurrence in the head and neck. In conclusion, malignant tumors, papilloma, dysplasia, polyps, and granulation decreased in autofluorescence. Malignant tumor decreased the most in autofluoresence. In contrast, leukoplakia, hyperkeratotic areas and cyst showed fluorescence. Areas of hemorrhage and strong inflammation showed a lack of autofluorescence.
