摘要
This paper describes the usefuless and application of a unified theory of careers, Social Cognitive Career Theory, as a framework for understanding and improving vocational services for individuals with serious mental health disorders. The paper discusses the relevance of various constructs of the theory, such as self efficacy beliefs and outcome expectations, to vocational rehabilitation of adults with serious mental health disorders. Specific examples of program intervention and future research directions based on Social Cognitive Career Theory are provided as a means of illustrating approaches to improving career-related performance.
