摘要
Virtual effects of new physics on the trilinear electroweak couplings WWV and VVV (V = gamma Z) are reviewed, both in specific models and the effective Lagrangian approach. The impact of new particles on the static electromagnetic properties of the W boson are discussed in several contexts. In particular, the sensitivity of the CP-violating electromagnetic moments to new sources of CP violation, as general Yukawa couplings, is stressed. The one-loop contribution of new gauge bosons to the off-shell WWV vertex is analyzed in the light of nonconventional quantization methods. In particular, a covariant scheme based in the BRST symmetry endowed with a nonlinear gauge-fixing procedure is discussed. The VVV coupling is studied in the context of the effective Lagrangian approach and the role played by the Bose and Lorentz symmetries emphasized. We argue that these symmetries are so restrictive that these vertices perhaps never could be observed, unless one of these principles could not be an exact symmetry of the nature, as suggested by quantum field theories formulated in a noncommutative space-time, which violate the Lorentz symmetry and thus allow for the existence of non-vanishing on-shell VVV vertices at the level of the classical action.
