摘要
The reduction of engineering cost is one of the most important issues when we consider ways to reduce the ownership cost for distributed control systems (DCSs). By providing a virtual DCS on a personal computer (PC), the Virtual Test Function for Control Application can be one of the best solutions utilized in reducing engineering cost. All functions of the DCS, including the Control Bus function and the Control Station function, reside on a Windows NT1 based PC, thus allowing the complete engineering process to be performed within the virtual DCS. in addition, the compatibility of the produced control application between the actual DCS and virtual DCS makes the overall software architecture of the virtual DCS very simple and encourages the engineering to be carried out efficiently.
