摘要
The Purpose of the study is to identify the link between self-consciousness and alcohol use in adolescents. A questionnaire consisting of questions an quantity and frequency of alcohol use as well as the Self-consciousness Scale was completed by 543 mate and female university students. Respondents were classified into 3 groups: nondrinkers, moderate drinkers, and severe drinkers. Results showed that the female severe drinkers had significantly higher scores on public self-consciousness than both male moderate and severe drinkers. Male severe drinkers also had significantly higher scores on private self-consciousness than the male moderate drinkers, This study emphasizes the importance of including self-consciousness issues in the structuring of alcohol abuse prevention programs for adolescents.
