Research on machinability experiment of the relieving shaped milling cutter with logarithmic spiral back curve

摘要
For the relieving shaped milling cutter with the traditional Archimedes back curve, the relief angle of each point on the cutting edge changes after re-facing the cutter. However, logarithmic spiral is substituted for the Archimedes curve to readily solve such problems and guarantee the stability of cutter machinability. On the basis of the contrast test. on the relieving shaped milling cutter with two different kinds of tooth back curves, it analyzes the varying milling force I, cutter wear, dimensional accuracy, surface roughness of the machined work-piece before and after re-facing the cutter, further testifies that the relieving shaped milling cutter with logarithmic spiral is superior to Xrchimedes curve in the stability of cutter machinability, and lays down a good foundation for superiority research of logarithmic spiral.
