摘要
This paper investigates the use of biofiltration technologies in the treatment of odour and waste gas released from the brownstock washer at a kraft pulp and paper mill. Based on data provided by Dorntar's Cornwall, Ontario mill, a design of the biofiltration system is presented along with an economic analysis and environmental impact assessment. The biofiltration system was found to be a more cost-effective option for odour and air pollution control than the traditional regenerative thermal oxidation technology.
