Scalability issues in the configuration of traditional ATM, PNNI ATM and MPLS based services

摘要：
In this paper, we devise a procedure to analyse how the effort that is required to configure a network service increases according to the underlying network technology and the number of network nodes and clients. Finally, we apply the explained procedure to study scalability issues in the configuration of traditional ATM, PNNI ATM and MPLS based services. We study the scalability of these technologies when they are used to configure a virtual private network service for different client topologies (star and mesh) and in different network topologies (full mesh and ring). Some interesting conclusions will be obtained from the study.
