Prerequisites and difficulties that arose in the path of admitting Russia to the membership of the World Trade Organization are reviewed. Problems connected with admitting Russia to this organization are listed. The conclusion is drawn that under today's conditions of Russia's economy its joining the World Trade organization is premature.
