摘要
The paper conducts a research on scientific research capability of national defense universities from a view of the niche theory, in which an evaluation index system and evaluation model of scientific research capability is constructed. Scientific research capability of national defense universities consists of three aspects, i.e., the attribute of ecostate, the attribute of ecostate-ecorole and the attribute of ecorole. Each of layers is then further divided into more detailed elements based on characteristics of universities for a quantitative analysis of scientific research capability. The approach adopted in the paper is a quantitative technique based on use of the niche theory. In the end, a case is pulled into to illustrate the feasibility of the methodology from the empirical perspective. This study is expected to be helpful for national defense universities to cultivate their core capabilities.
