Secure, error-resilient, and real-time progressive image transmission

摘要
To transmit secret application data securely, error resiliently, and synchronously is an issue of great concern. On the basis of image sharing with the use of the JPEG2000-generated bit stream of wavelet transform coefficients and the modified Shamir's threshold scheme over a Galois field, we present a new method for image transmission. The scheme takes advantage of JPEG2000's features of having no error propagation and generating a compact and progressive bit stream. In addition, the algorithm embeds error control codes and synchronization marks into the generated shadow images. As a result, it is secure and error resilient and gives small shadow images and excellent rate-distortion performance for real-time progressive transmission and reconstruction over noisy channels.
