摘要
Curing characteristics and mechanical properties of oil palm fibre reinforced rubber composites have been studied. Modification of fibre surface and use of various bonding systems increased the mechanical properties of oil palm fibre reinforced rubber composites. The presence of bonding agents in composites have prolonged the curing time. However, scorch and curing time were found to be independent of fibre loading and modification of fibre surface. SEM studies show that the bonding between the fibre and rubber matrix is improved when the fibre is treated and used with various bonding agents. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
