Effects of gamma rays and temperature on mitotic index and irregularities of Crotalaria juncea L.

摘要
Effects of different doses of gamma ray and a constant temperature (35 degrees C) for varying periods treatment duration on mitotic index and irregularities of Crotalaria juncea L. were studied. Irregularities such as, inhibited metaphase chromosomes, formation of fragments, laggards, bridges, rings, etc. were recorded. In most of the cases, decreased mitotic index and increased mitotic irregularities were observed with an increase of the doses of gamma rays and temperature treatment duration (TTD). Highly significant regression of radiation but non-significant regression of TTD for both the parameters was estimated.
