摘要
Obstructive sleep apnea has been associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity. The pathophysiology of these consequences is not fully understood. Leptin and C-reactive protein levels have been reported to be increased in patients with OSA and obesity and may be implicated in the pathogenesis of vascular pathology. The confounding role of obesity is not well elucidated. The aim of this study was to identify the most important determinant factors of leptin and CRP levels in a cohort of OSA patients. In summary, obesity and indices of nocturnal hypoxemia were the most significant variables that influence the serum levels of leptin and CRP.
