Reflecting on an article that could pay homage to Jean Piaget in the forty years of his death, we chose to translate an autobiographical article, little know in Brazil an which we consider of great importance for the interpretation of his apparently heterogenous work, which includes Biology, Logic, Theory of Knowledge, Epistemology, Intelligence, Development...and which, nevertheless, forms a coherent system as he explains in the article we present here: Les modeles abstraits sont ils opposes aux interpretations psychophysiologiques dans l'explication en psychologie?
