Political psychology: The Latin American perspective

Political psychology began in Latin America as a response to social needs. The main work areas have been national identity and social conscience; political socialization; nationalism and internationalism; violation of human rights and torture. Research is carried out in a large number of countries. Some of the investigations have relevance for other Third World countries and also for political psychology as a scientific discipline.
