The Shuang-Yang cement works in China - Design and operating results of a 2000 t/d model project

The cement works Shuang-Yang came on line in, mid 1993. This cement works, which was built on a "green field" site and has a modern technology production line designed for a planned clinker through-put of 2 000 t/d, is located approximately 90 km south of Chang Shun the capital of the Ji-Sin province in north-east China. When it was built this works was considered to be the most modern cement works in China with regard to process technology and capacity It is distinguished by its compact layout and has the technical equipment necessary to ensure compliance with all the general standards of environmental protection. The cement works, which mainly produces only an ordinary Portland cement, reached the guaranteed parameters very quickly after commissioning. The Project Planning and Research Institute of the Cement Industry in Tianjin was responsible for the organization and planning of this works and most of the equipment installed is of Chinese origin. A great deal of the equipment was produced under licence and selected key components were imported in order to bring the Chinese cement industry up to international standards. The 2000 t/d cement works in Shuang-Yang represents a model project for the future planning and construction of cement plants with capacities of 3 000 and 4 000 tld. At the time of its construction the cement works cost approximately 64 million US$.
