摘要
Gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (GC-FTIR) were applied to the analysis of high boiling residue from the dry gas synthesized ethyl benzene distillation tower bottom. On the basis of database searching, the main component of the residue was identified as diphenyl methane. Gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was utilized to confirm this result and identify the other components, which are mainly 1,1-diphenylethane, polyalkyl benzene, and alkyl naphthalene compounds. The difference in sensitivity of GC-FTIR and GC-MS was compared.
