摘要：

This article describes the general areas of ethics that psychiatrists will need to confront in a managed care environment. The collision of ethics and economics is the starting ground for some of the discussion as well as new dilemmas around traditional ethical issues are included. The general topics of confidentiality, conflicts of interest, informed consent, double agentry, honesty, interference in the doctor-patient relationship, and relationships with other mental health professionals are discussed. Typical situations are described elucidating all of theses potential areas of ethical difficulty.
