Leveraging grid computing in an Intelligent Decision Making course

摘要
Grid computing is emerging as a new environment for solving difficult problems. Linear and nonlinear optimization problems can be computationally expensive. Elon University has developed a unique undergraduate course called Intelligent Decision Making, which applies the latest in grid computing with linear and nonlinear optimization techniques. Students of this course experience real world decision problems similar to those found in industry and are taught to apply grid computing techniques on these problems. The course allows students to demonstrate characteristics expected of graduates of a computer science major.
