CONNECTION METHOD AND FATIGUE OF STRINGER TO CROSSBEAM OF LARGE-SPAN STEEL BRIDGES

摘要
Fatigue is an important research field of steel bridges and fatigue damage caused by cyclic loading is very dangerous to steel bridges. Several connection methods of stringers to crossbeams are introduced and their advantages and shortages are compared. The damage and deteriorations of the connection of stringers to crossbeams of some large-span road steel bridge in China is introduced. Based on the 3D finite element analysis of the whole bridge, refined finite element analysis of the segment of floor system has been done. According to the finite element results the causes of damage of the connections of this bridge are studied.
