摘要：
2-Arylbenzo[b]furans have been synthesized in good to excellent yields through unusual acid catalysed 1,2-elimination of 2-aroyl-2-aryl-3-hydroxybenzo[b]furans isolated as an intermediate for the first time. Their structure has been confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
