Stretching self-adhesive foils based on the modified low-density branched polyethylene for palletizing as well as for packing of individual products were developed. Tackiness and surface properties, e.g. total free surface energy and its polar component, were measured. Some tackifiyng systems for reaching the self-adhesive properties of polyethylene foils were tested. The highest values of tackiness were obtained using the system dibutylphthalate-esterified colophony. The changes in tackiness of the self-adhesive foils due to time after preparation were observed in the range 6-14% in comparison with the original values.
