Nitrogen and sulphur fertilization in relation to yield attributes and seed yield of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea)

A field experiment was conducted during the winter season of 1992-93 and 1993-94 with 'Kranti' Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj and Cosson]. Application of 120 kg N/ha and 40 kg S/ha significantly increased the seed yield with the concomittant increase in yield attributes. The per cent increase in seed yield at 120 kg N/ha over 80, 40 and the control was 16.0, 34.2, 92.23 and 5.2, 23.5 and 83.1 and at 40 kg S/ha over 20 and control was 7.0 and 27.62 and 7.4 and 29.75, during 1992-93 and 1993-94. Interaction on siliquae/plant and seed yield at 120 kg N and 40 kg S/ha were also significant over the control.
