Farmers viewpoints about using wastewater in farmlands in Iran

The present study aimed to investigate the views of farmers about using wastewater in agriculture. The study was done by a descriptive-surveying method. The validity of research tool was obtained by the idea of experts. The Cronbach' alpha coefficient of higher than 0.7 showed that research tool was reliable. The result of research showed that farmers believed using of wastewater has created health issues such as: infectious diseases, skin and emissions of bad odour in the region. Results of regression analysis showed that wastewater health awareness by farmers can have a great impact in encouraging them to use wastewater in agriculture. Also, the result of factor analysis showed that the 48% of the total variance of the farmer's viewpoint of using wastewater were: healthy, ecological and social-economic factor, so that half of it depends on the risk and problem on health issue for using wastewater in this region.
