摘要：
This paper represents overview of backup power supplies, by considering power quality concerns, types of power supplies available and the limitations. Specifically this paper presents the details of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system and its types and focuses on detailed patent landscape analysis, which provides patent filing trend, technology spread and geographical patent distribution. Finally the paper concludes with brief thoughts on UPS emerging trends and the factors that are driving this industry.
