Ferroelectric BaBi2Nb2O9 ceramic powders have been prepared by using solid state reaction method sintered at 1000 degrees C for 5 hrs. Reitveild refinement analysis, samples are found to be in orthorhombic space group A21am (36). Morphological, elemental analysis and FTIR profile has been carried out from SEM image, EDS profile and FTIR spectrum. It is interesting to report that we could notice ferroelectric to paraelectric phase transition from based on the dielectric properties as function of temperature (30-350 degrees C). Ferroelectric nature of the sample has been confirmed from the measurement of its P-E hysteresis loop.
