Principles of Public Procurement in the Context of the Free Trade Agreement Between Chile and Colombia

The purpose of this article is to examine the importance of the general principles of public procurement incorporated in the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Chile and the Republic of Colombia. The analysis draws on the study of the global evolution of the principles of equality, non-discrimination, transparency, free competition and publicity. These principles have generated the unification of criteria and the existing regulations in this discipline, as well as the formation of common regulations based on the prohibition of any form of discrimination on the basis of nationality and as a guarantee of sounded commercial relations, aimed at advancing the matter of public procurement.
