KEY SKILLS FOR EMPLOYABILITY

The article deals with employability in the context of globalization in Europe and its impact on education in society. It is based on Eurostat statistics, and attempts to set targets for the education in 21 century with regard to the elimination of inequalities in education, especially for disadvantaged people. This article also discusses the concept of core competencies within in German-speaking countries, because the graduates seek and certainly will seek a job vacancy in the future even in our western and southern neighbours. The comparative analysis includes German-speaking Community of Belgium, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, the countries of the European Union. Attention is focused on the lexical designation of key competencies, their definitions and their possible range.
