摘要
In performing laser spectroscopy on objects with a spectrum showing a rich structure, it will be worthwhile to fully use the possibilities of the resolving power inherent to the linewidth of the laser radiation. Tuning rates should be limited to a range in which transform-limited bandwidth is less than or comparable to the linewidth of the untuned laser. For properly designing laser tuning rates, the quasistatic or adiabatic chirp is proposed.
