An asymmetric tangential load on the boundary of an elastic half-space

A dynamic problem for an elastic half-space under the action of an asymmetric tangential load distributed on its boundary is discussed. Simple expressions are obtained for the components of the stress tensor in the form of series possessing asymptotic properties, which converge for short time values. The errors of an approximate solution, determined by partial sums of the series, are estimated. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
