摘要
A study of the atlas and axis of Plio-Pleistocene Hominids reveals a morphology different from that of extant primates. In particular, the morphology of the retro-glenoid tubercle of the glenoid cavity of the atlas of AL 333.83 suggests characteristics of genus Australopithecus. The other two atlas from East Turkana (Kenya), KNM-ER 1825 and KNM-ER 1808 (Z) exhibit human-like morphology. SK 854 can be attributed to 'classical' Australopithecines. AL 333.101 is quite similar to modern humans. It confirms the presence of an early Homo or another form with committed permanence.
