摘要
Efficient electroluminescence from an organic thin film at low drive voltage was first reported in 1987. Since then, the possibility of realizing a new generation of flat panel displays has driven an increasing volume of research in both industrial and academic laboratories. In early 1997, the improvement in the efficiency and lifetime of organic light-emitting devices leaves them poised to compete commercially as monochrome, emissive flat panels. Advances based on the unique properties of organic thin films create the potential for realizing a new generation of full color and flexible displays.
