摘要
The high-speed permanent magnet (PM) machine is appropriate for high speed operation due to its simple structure and high power density. The protection of PM and the strength of enclosure acting by the centrifugal force are crucial to ensure safe operation for high-speed machine. In this paper, the finite element method is used to calculate stress of PM and enclosure. The stress distribution of rotor is determined in the design stage. The study shows that stress of the solid PM rotor is better for low-power high-speed machine. A new PM rotor structure is determined in accordance with the strength requirements.
