摘要
During decommissioning and decontamination, nuclear facilities must be able to store, interpret, compare, and summarize large amounts of data. An automated data management system (ADMS) was developed to more thoroughly and consistently maintain and process a facility's survey data. Ultimately, the ADMS minimized possible random data errors and allowed users to readily review final radiological status data. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requires all nuclear facilities to perform a final status survey following completion of decommissioning and decontamination activities. The survey must demonstrate that the facility's radiological parameters meet the NRC established radiological release criteria. The NRC stipulates that documentation for the final status survey must provide: (1) a complete and clear record of the radiological status of the facility relative to the established release criteria, and (2) sufficient detail to enable an independent audit and evaluation of survey activities and calculated survey results. The ADMS was developed to store all necessary data for an independent audit and to readily generate clear and concise radiological reports.
